Unless I'm missing something, the Genius function in ITunes is, well, pretty lame.

It's supposed to intuit a song list based on some tune you highlight. I have 512 songs on my laptop, many of them from the Apple Store so I don't want to hear about how it didn't have the right properties to choose from.

Here are some gems.

I highlighted Rollergirl by Apoptygma Berzerk. It's a techno-pop song. Robotic vocals, sequencers, blips, beeps etc.

"Genius" generates:
Round and Round, Ratt
Incense and Peppermint, Strawberry Alarm Clock
Crazy Train, Ozzy Osbourne
Iron Tusk, Mastodon


Ok, there were also some decent matches but about half of them are like the above - so "off", it's kind of bizarre...

I'm guessing Apple will gradually improve this function.
